Before the first drink, there was already thirst—
Some beautifully and genuinely written
Another tour de force of a poem.
The Garden of the Heart
Your heart is that garden—
where once you walked
with your Creator in the hush before the Fall,
when the breeze carried only praise,
and the soil knew no sorrow.
There, in that sacred place,
Love first took root.
And now, though veiled by time and toil,
its gate still stands within you,
waiting for the key of remembrance,
for the turning of your gaze inward,
where the Teacher waits—
the Blessed Beauty,
clothed in light,
His words like rain upon the thirsty earth.
He does not beckon you to distant heights,
but leads you gently home—
home to your heart,
where every thorn turns into bloom,
every wound becomes a window,
and every longing is a lantern lit
to guide your steps in the dusk of self.
Walk again in that garden.
Tend it with prayer.
Adorn it with truth.
And you will find Him there,
not as stranger, but as Friend,
smiling beneath the Tree of Life,
where your soul remembers
what the world forgot.
I love this🙏
